It is responsible for the following systems:

  • PowPLC PLC software to control more than 600 commercial power converters in Isolde, AD and LEIR.
  • Control and Interlock Systems of the PS, PSB and SPS main power converter.
  • Control and Interlock Systems of the SVCs of PSB, SPS and LHC.
  • Control and monitoring of the Circuit Disconnector Boxes of the inner triplet circuits of the HL-LHC.

Technologies

  • Siemens PLCs:
    • S7-300, S7-400, S7-1500
    • Simatic Touch Panels
    • Simatic Automation Manager (Step7) and TIAPortal
  • UNICOS framework
  • WinCC OA SCADA
  • Fieldbuses and industrial networks: Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, CAN, IEC104
  • Functional safety
  • Continuous Integration and Automatic Functional Testing
    • Gitlab CI
    • Python
    • S7-PLCSIM Advanced
  • Jira and kanban boards for agile development
